A FEW hundred people turned out to witness a colourful evening of music, dance, entertainment and fireworks on Poole quay on May 3, 2002.
It was the first event in an 18-week series billed as the “longest summer”.
The length of the quay was filled with street entertainers, bands and dancers.
Visitors and families danced to the rhythms and enjoyed drinks and barbecue food as they eagerly awaited the firework finale.
Jugglers diced with flaming torches, the Stepping Out School of Dance performed disco and jigs.
And the fun continued the following evening with the Friday Quay For My Car night as red open-topped sports cars congregated on the quay for car enthusiasts to enjoy. Reminisce with pictures from that event in Monday’s Daily Echo.
