Wimborne Road
A lamppost fault caused a small explosion and fire on an electricity pylon in Bournemouth last night.
Fire crews from Redhill and Springbourne were called at 8.21pm on Wednesday, February 9, to Wimborne Road after a fault with a lamppost caused switches on an SSE fuse box to overheat and blow, resulting in a small fire.
Crews worked quickly to make the scene safe and the call to stop came at 8.45pm.
The incident was handed over is now under the control of the electricity board.
