NUMEROUS celebratory events took place across Dorset in 1977, including a Grand Jubilee Fair in Wimborne and Bournemouth’s Jubilee parade.
In the New Forest the party atmosphere was just as prevalent, with fancy dress fun in Ringwood and a Jubilee carnival in Brockenhurst.
But they were just a few of the hundreds of events staged locally to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's ascension to the throne 25 years earlier.
Hants and Dorset Buses drove a specially-decorated vehicle round Bournemouth and street parties were held across the city.
Some of the parties and celebrations can be seen in these pictures from the Daily Echo archives.
