DRIVERS face a huge diversion as a section of a north Dorset road will close for five nights.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Dinah’s Hollow in Melbury Abbas between the junction of White Pit Lane and the B308 Higher Blandford Road.

Bournemouth Echo: Diversion in place as road in Dianh's Hollow set to close

The closure will be in place from February 7, starting at 8pm and not opening until 6am, lasting until February 12.

Drivers wanting to travel the route will have to go down Spread Eagle Hill, onto Boyne’s Lane, through Higher Shaftesbury Road, onto the A350 and finally onto the B3081.

The work is to allow agents of Openreach to lay new track, build new boxes, access to underground structures and overhead cables in the highway.
