A BADLY damaged vehicle was stopped by police shortly after being involved in a crash.
Purbeck Police officers were on patrol on the morning of Thursday, February 3, when they passed a white vehicle driving through Wool.
Officers turned around to follow it, citing the state of the vehicle as “not roadworthy” and with concerns it could have been involved in a fail to stop RTC.
Responding to police, the driver pulled over to engage with an officer.
Discussions with the male driver found that he had in fact been involved in an accident shortly prior to this. The driver confirmed details had been exchanged and that his boss “told [him] to drive it back”.
When asked if his boss had seen the damage, the driver apparently replied, “yes he has”.
The officer then explained to the driver that he would not be driving to his desired destination of Sherborne due to the vehicle’s condition and that it would require recovery.
