SIGNIFICANT extra funding may be needed to level up youth services across the BCP council area.
Poole councillor Mark Howell said that while some youth services were good in the area, those in Poole Town and Hamworthy were lacking.
He said that if the council was serious about improving youth services, especially for those with complex needs, or likely to develop those needs, it would need to set more money aside in the budget for next year.
Cllr Howell said he had been told that a mapping exercise would shortly get underway to look at what services were available across the council area and where additional services might be needed.
“Assuming the council do something about it, it will mean some significant costs to come,” he told the council’s overview and scrutiny committee.
