BOURNEMOUTH town centre is to suffer yet another blow when House of Fraser closes in the spring.

It means the only department store left will be the fledgling Bobby’s which will focus more on niche products.

One could be forgiven for thinking we are in the middle of a recession looking at the number of stores closing.

Perhaps the government would be better looking at how to support businesses in towns which have suffered greatly during the pandemic and who now face crippling business rates.
