RESIDENTS have been invited to support a parish council's project to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee.
Highcliffe & Walkford Parish Council has decided to plant seven specimen trees, one to mark each decade of Her Majesty's reign, in the grounds of Highcliffe Castle.
Members of the community can get behind the project by contributing subscriptions to fund the trees. Contributors will be recognised by inscriptions on a memorial seat sited with the trees.
Cllr Bob Hutchings, parish council chairman, said: "The Platinum Jubilee is a unique historical event and the opportunity to celebrate it in different ways is something we can all appreciate.
"It would be good to see that seat in years to come covered with the names of subscribers."
Anyone interested in being part of the project and making a donation should contact Trish.Jamieson@highcliffewalkford-pc.go.uk.
