I AM becoming very concerned at the council’s obsession with cycleways and apparent lack of concern at the state of the roads in our area and the many potholes not repaired.
In particular some of these are on major roads with heavy traffic.
I travel regularly from Queens Park to Christchurch and as two examples would point out several holes appearing in the main A338, western side, between Cooper Dean and Blackwater.
Also outside the St Catherines Shopping Centre in Fairmile part of the road appears to be sinking and breaking up.
I am not an expert on roads but it does seem to me this type of problem could cause a serious accident and whilst our cycling people will not like it some money must be used to keep roads in proper repair.
No doubt if a cyclist got hurt riding into a pothole they would be the first to complain.
