POLICE say it was lucky no one was killed after a crash in the New Forest on Friday night.
The incident happened in Arnewood Bridge Road in Sway in the late hours of Friday, January 21, as two officers from Lymington and New Milton Police stumbled across a car crashed into a tree on their way home.
The road was closed while further police and an ambulance attended to ensure the area and vehicle occupant was safe.
In a social media post, a police spokesperson said the bend was taken “too fast” and the driver failed a road side breath test. They did, however, also say: “The driver will have to provide a further evidential test, so not proven over the limit just yet, but alcohol highly likely to have played a factor.
“Six police officers and an ambulance when all of this could have been avoided. Luckily no one [was] killed this time. Don’t drink and drive, it ruins lives.”
