A LONELY rescue dog who has spent two years in kennels is still waiting to be rehomed.

Two-year-old Bella has spent almost her entire life in kennels and staff feel she is struggling to find her forever home as she’s misunderstood by potential adopters.

After the Echo published a story about Bella last week (January 13), a number of potential adopters came forward and staff are still going through the applications.

A spokesperson at Ashley Heath Animal Centre, said: "She hasn't been rehomed yet, it does take a few days to go through applications, but we have had several phone call enquires and a few applications in, which I've passed onto the kennel team, so it certainly has generated interest.

"Hopefully some of these applications will be suitable, unfortunately there's a lot of people who just see a picture of the dog and send in the form without reading any information about her, only for them not to be suitable.

"So, hopefully we will have success but the good thing is it's certainly got the message out there about her and has generated interest, so fingers crossed.

"Her details will be removed from our website when there has been a successful conversation with a potential adopter and a successful meet, so if she disappears from our website you'll know that it's been a good result. Currently we're just taking in the applications, they just started coming in so it's early days on that account."
