AN 'OFFENSIVE' banner on the side of the road in Dorset has remained in place days after it was reported.

The sign was spotted by a woman in Boundary Lane on the left hand side of the bend just before the Cherry Pickers firm.

The sign said: "No blacks, no gypsies, no dogs. They are all brothers and sisters through Christ. We remember and so do they. Bournemouth Council, the world is watching. Racism must stop."

The concerned local said they were 'disgusted to see the hate content on the banner.'

At the time, the Echo contacted Dorset Council, as the local authority for where the banner was placed, and the ward councillor for St Leonards and St Ives, Cllr Ray Bryan, who then referred the matter to Dorset Police.

However, days later the banner is reportedly still on the side of the road.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police, said: "We received the initial report making us aware of the sign at 12.02pm on Friday 14 January 2022. We also received two further reports, one later on Friday 14 January 2022 and one on Tuesday 18 January 2022, again making us aware of the sign from members of the public who were unaware it had previously been reported.

"We have identified the landowner and are continuing to liaise with them. As far as we are aware it remains in place."
