‘Landlords are not helping keep retail stores alive’
I AM disappointed and saddened that another big named retailer, New Look, will be leaving Bournemouth Town centre at the end of February.
Along with the closure of Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, H&M, the town centre is full of empty units that once thrived, full of customers and with tills ringing.
This is the changing face of retail however, with online retailing taking more and more of the market share.
Landlords are not helping keep these stores alive.
The retail hub of Bournemouth retail now seems destined for Castlepoint or even Southampton.
What a shame, and a travesty to the vibrant, enjoyable shopping experience Bournemouth used to offer.
