AN ARSON investigation has been launched by police over a fire in Bournemouth.

Detectives are carrying out enquiries in relation to a fire at a property in Wimborne Road, Winton, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

Officers and firefighters attended the scene of the incident at around 9.35pm on Friday, January 14.

There were no reports of any serious injuries, a Dorset Police spokeswoman said.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Nic Taylor, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances and the cause of the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area during the evening of Friday, January 14, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling along Wimborne Road around the relevant time to please check their dashcam for any footage to assist my enquiries.”
