COASTGUARD and police were deployed on Tuesday after concern was raised for the welfare of a woman in Canford Cliffs.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 7.24pm on Tuesday January 11, raising concern for the welfare of a woman in the area of Cliff Drive in Poole. Officers attended and the woman was located at around 7.45pm.

“She was taken to safety and given appropriate care.”

Southbourne Coastguard said they were tasked at 7.36pm by the joint rescue centre along with Poole Coastguard Rescue Team and Lymington CRT to assist Dorset Police with the incident.

While en route, information came through that the police had resolved the incident and no further coastguard assistance was required.
