THE Russell-Cotes museum and art gallery is hosting an extra-special valentines event next month.
House of Hearts will see the museum open late between 5pm and 8pm for the romantic event on Thursday, February 17.
The evening will feature live music, pop-up theatrical performances, a special Valentine’s afternoon tea (pre-booking is required) and cocktails will be available from the bar.
Gifted to the people of Bournemouth by Merton and Annie Russell-Cotes and opened to the public after their death in 1922, the breath-taking museum and art gallery is celebrating its centenary this year.
Filled with treasures from their global adventures throughout the Victorian era, the home has been sealed in time.
Now a registered charity the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum displays their collections and world class art while conserving their unique home and celebrating the love story of Merton and Annie.

However, the charity is urgently raising funds to restore the building. Priorities include replacing storm damaged stained-glass and making the conservatory roof weather-tight.
Funds are also needed for cleaning and conserving pictures and fragile historic artefacts and furniture so that they can be displayed and enjoyed today and by future generations.
