A DRIVER has been fined more than £500 after failing report an accident involving a metal bench in a Poole car park.

Robert Terrance Trice, aged 41 and of Catalina Drive, Poole, was prosecuted in relation to an incident in Baiter car park in Catalina Drive on June 17.

Appearing at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on December 21, Trice pleaded guilty to a single charge of being the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report that accident.

The court heard the defendant was at the wheel of a BMW car which was involved in a collision which caused damage to a blue metal bench.

Trice was fined £576 and ordered to pay a £58 surcharge and £60 costs. His driving record was endorsed with six points.
