AS WE enter the new year, are you looking at booking holidays and events in but need to know the school terms? Well, look no further.

We've gathered all of the key dates for school terms including when holidays start and end, so you can go ahead and start planning that well-earned family break. 

School term and holiday dates are usually set over 14 months before the academic year starts. They are based on a school year of 195 days.

Here are all of the term dates and school holidays during 2022:

  • Spring term -  

Part one: 

Tuesday, January 4, to Friday, February 18. 

Half term:

Monday, February 21, to Friday, February 25.

Part two:

Monday, February 28 to Friday, April 8.

Easter holiday  - 

Monday, April 11, to Friday, April 22.

  • Summer term - 

Part one: 

Monday, April 25 to Friday, May 27.

*May Day Bank Holiday will be taken on May 2, 2022

Half term:

Monday, May 30 to Friday, June 3.

*Spring Bank Holiday will be taken on June 2, 2022.

*Platinum Jubillee bank holiday will be taken on June 3, 2022.

Part two:

Monday, June 6, to Friday, July 22.

Summer holiday - 

Holidays will run from Monday, July 25 with schools returning on Thursday, September 1.

  • Autumn term - 

Part one: 

Thursday, September 1 to Friday, October 21.

Half term:

Monday, 24 October to Friday, October 28.

Part two:

Monday, October 31 to Friday, December 16.

  • Christmas holiday- 

Monday, December 20 to Monday, January 2, 2023 (schools return on Tuesday, January 3).

Bank and Public holidays 2021 to 2022: 

  • Boxing Day: December 26
  • Christmas bank holiday: December 27
  • New Year's Day: January 3
  • Good Friday: April 15
  • Easter Monday: April 18
  • May Day bank holiday: May 2
  • Spring bank holiday: June 2
  • Platinum Jubilee bank holiday: June 3
  • Summer bank holiday: August 29
