A VEHICLE has been seized and the driver has been reported to court after being found to have no insurance or tax and the worst tyres police have ever seen.

A VW Golf was stopped by police in Boscombe when the driver was seen on their mobile phone - officers then found the driver was hiding a myriad of offences.

Not only was the driver using his mobile phone whilst driving, he has no seatbelt, insurance, tax or driving license and two bald tyres.

The driver had previously been to prison for driving offences, although he had served his driving ban he never re applied for his licence and had conditions to pass an extended driving test.

He also said he was unable to pay for the insurance or tax as the benefits he claimed didn’t cover the cost.

Bournemouth Echo: bald tyresbald tyres

A spokesperson for Dorset Police's No Excuse team said: "The only positive for the driver was that he didn’t hurt himself or anyone else and the MOT was in date by 19 days.

"The tyres are possibly the worst we’ve seen."

The driver was reported to court and the vehicle was seized.
