POLICE have been carrying out “reassurance patrols” near to a Bournemouth mosque after an alleged assault and criminal damage incident.
As reported, Dorset Police received a report at 6.33am on Wednesday December 1 of a man acting aggressively at the Bournemouth Islamic Centre and Central Mosque in St Stephens Road.
It was further reported that criminal damage was caused to a door.
Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage.
A spokesperson added: “In terms of an update, the arrested man – aged 19 and of Bournemouth – has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.”
Neighbourhood policing team officers have been seen carrying out reassurance patrols in the area and will continue to be present during prayer times.
