THE big switch on of Wimborne’s Christmas lights takes place on Saturday with a series of events for people to enjoy in the day.
Wimborne Minster BID confirmed it schedule of events for the Christmas extravaganza.
A statement from the BID said: “Starting from 11am, enjoy family entertainment from Dorset Youth Marching Band, Jaimie Jambo, Susie Kimber, Soul Party, Blue Moon Boys, Big Night Out and Love Soul Choir.
“The lights go on at 4.30pm, before our headliner, and the militia will be firing a 5:30pm at Minster Green.
“Please note that East Borough and the High Street will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the safety of pedestrians attending the event.”
