ONE person suffered smoke inhalation after a property fire in Wimborne which was attended by several crews.

Firefighters were called to reports of flames issuing from the first-floor window of a semi-detached property in Ryan Way, Wimborne at 8.28am this morning.

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire spokesperson said: “Firefighters from Wimborne, Poole (x3 engines) Redhill Park and Ferndown as well as the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Westbourne were called to Ryan Way this morning.

“The fire is now under control and crews are using the ALP to assess the roof space for any fire spread. Firefighters have used six sets of breathing apparatus and three hose reels and three main lines to extinguish the fire.

“The occupants were out of the property prior to the arrival of [South Western Ambulance], however colleagues from SWASFT have been requested to the scene for one casualty suffering smoke inhalation.”
