FIREFIGHTERS put out a blaze at a popular conservation site in Dorset after reports of a campfire.
A crew from Wareham Fire Station were called to Wareham Forest yesterday afternoon to extinguish a campfire.
The forest took to national stage last year after a blaze in the forest in May 2020 burned for about two weeks leaving about 550 acres (220 hectares) damaged.
A spokeswoman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Rescue Service (DWFRS) said: "At 4:59pm, one fire engine was sent to Wareham Forest to a campfire which was quickly extinguished.
"Please do not have campfires in the countryside."
