Two shining stars weren't the only things to be twinkling in Dorset over the festive period in 2000.

TV personalities Harry Hill and Jeremy Beadle braved the cold weather to visit Dorset and help turn on Christmas lights

Funnyman Harry Hill was in Poole on November 28, to help flip the switch and throw glorious sparkling lights onto the hundreds of onlookers and shoppers.

Just like in Poole, each year people brave the chill to gather and see the Yuletide illuminations fill the skies in Bournemouth.
