A BOURNEMOUTH man has been fined £3,000 for failing to self-isolate after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Harry O’Connell, aged 30, was prosecuted for a breach of the Covid regulations which were in force at the start of the year when the country was in a national lockdown.

O’Connell, of Wick Lane, Bournemouth, is said to have failed to self isolate on January 9 in Christchurch when he had been informed to do so after receiving a positive test result on January 7.

The case against him was proved under the single justice procedure, which did not involve him attending a court hearing, at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 22.

A magistrate issued a £3,000 fine as well as an order to pay a £190 surcharge and £90 costs.

The court made a collection order for the money.
