DORSET’S very own baking star Maggie has been eliminated from the Great British Bake Off after a tough week.
The 70-year-old midwife had a tricky dessert week as she forgot to put flour in her sticky toffee puddings in the technical challenge and her show-stopping round didn’t go to plan as her cake leaked.
Following her exit, Maggie said: “The whole thing has been such fun really.
“To have been part of it is just a complete joy.”
The Great British Bake Off tweeted: “Maggie’s sticky toffee pudding may not have gone to plan, but she deserves a handshake for taking it in such good grace and humour.”
Viewers took to Twitter after the show, describing Maggie as “lovely” and a “joy to watch”.
They expressed their sadness at her exit, calling her a “breath of fresh air”.
