TWO men have been arrested and a cyclist is fighting for life in hospital following a crash in the New Forest on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to the A338 in Fordingbridge at 8.27pm.
This was following reports of a collision involved a Renault Clio and a cyclist.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "The cyclist, a 23-year-old man, suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
"A 52-man-from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
"A 55-year-old man from Shepton Mallet has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving, being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.
"They are currently in police custody.
"Anyone with witnessed the collision or has any information that could assist our inquiry, is asked to call police on 101 quoting 44210407634."
