TWO Sandbanks Road properties could be demolished to make way for 60 flats.

Separate planning applications have been lodged for numbers 383, known as Coolhurst, and for numbers 6-8 Sandbanks Road, Poole  – with 44 flats proposed at the first site and 16 at the second.

The larger of the applications, if approved, will offer parking for up to 84 vehicles on the site, including in a basement garage. It proposes 24 three-bed flats and 20 two-bed. The site currently has nine homes.

Brownsea Build, which has made the application, claims the existing three storey building has “no architectural merit and lacks visual interest”. The new scheme is said to build on a previously approved application for the site with five storeys and featuring curved edges.

The full application is open for public comment until November 6th via the BCP Council website.

Public comments remain open for ten days longer for the outline application for 16 flats at 6-8 Sandbanks Road, closer to the town centre.

The Charlew Developments Ltd application asks for in principle permission to build 15 two-bed flats and a single one-bed flat on the site which currently has two large homes on it, one a bungalow.

If approved the redesigned site will double the existing number of parking space, to 16, with parking for up to 32 cycles.
