A MAN has been disqualified from driving after he was caught behind the wheel of a Range Rover at more than three-and-a-half times the drink-drive limit.

David Betteridge, aged 38, appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 15 in relation to an incident on January 27.

The court heard that Betteridge, of Barrack Road, West Parley, was caught driving a 2019 plate Range Rover in Barrack Road, Christchurch. When he provided a sample to police, it contained 303 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Magistrates issued a 12-month community order, which required the defendant to have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months and take part in up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

Betteridge was also fined £1,920, ordered to pay £190 surcharge and £85 costs and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 30 months.
