FIRE crews from across Bournemouth were summoned to an address in the town following reports of a fire at a property in Westbourne.

Firefighters from Westbourne, Springbourne and Redhill Park attended the fire on Norwich Avenue West at 8.26am on Saturday October 2.

The blaze, which was found to be on the first floor of the building, was put out using the domestic water supply.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews from Westbourne, Springbourne and Redhill Park were mobilised to reports of a fire at domestic property in Norwich Avenue West.

“The first attending appliance arrived on scene within two minutes of booking mobile to the incident and located a fire in the first-floor kitchen.

“Crews extinguished the fire using a domestic water supply and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.”
