AS Daniel Craigs' last movie in the role of James Bond is now being shown in cinemas, the Echo looks back at a local 007-themed event from 2005 – the year before Craig made his debut in Casino Royale.
Meyrick Park played host to Live and Let Die, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s James Bond spectacular outdoor picnic concert on August 5, 2005.
Partygoers were dressed to the nines for the occasion, which included a chance to bring a bottle of bubbly and enjoy a picnic in the park.
There were prizes for the most dapper 007s and the most beautiful Bond girls, while car fanatics were treated to a display of some of the flash motors used in the films.
Members of the BSO were joined by three singing stars from the West End and a troupe of dancing girls to perform Bond hits such as Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Nobody Does it Better and For Your Eyes Only.
Like all the best Bond movies the event ended in spectacular style as more than 1,000 fireworks were let off.
