AN INCREASE of anti-social behaviour in an area of Wareham was largely 'down to two individuals' according to police.

Police have said that a large increase of anti-social behaviour incidents in the Carey area of Wareham was largely down to two individuals who were causing a significant negative impact on residents living in the area.

One of the individuals said to have been causing issues was excluded from the property they were staying in, and the other individual responsible, a woman, has now been excluded from entering the Purbeck area after she breached a community protection warning.

Police have said that issues in the area have been resolved as a result.

A spokesman for Purbeck Police said: "This year saw a large increase of anti-social behaviour incidents in the Carey area of Wareham. This was having a significant negative impact on local residents.

"The incidents could largely be put down to two individuals. We worked closely with the council and housing providers. As a result were initially able to exclude one of the people from the property they were staying in. The remaining female was then issued with a Community Protection Warning that was later breached following a further incident of anti social behaviour.

"Because of this breach the female has now been issued with a Community Protection Notice that excludes her from entering the Purbeck area and she has now moved out of the area.

"I would like to thank the residents for their patience and engaging with us about the issues and am pleased we have now managed to resolve the issues."
