A MAN suffered a broken nose, teeth, eye socket and jaw after intervening in an altercation in Bournemouth.

Police investigating the incident have now released images of six people they’d like to speak to.

At around 3am on Wednesday, September 22, the victim, a man aged in his 30s, witnessed an altercation involving what he believed to be two groups of people outside London Market convenience store in Old Christchurch Road and went to intervene.

He was then assaulted by a number of people, with the offenders grabbing him round the neck, punching him and throwing him to the ground.

When he was on the ground the victim was kicked and punched.

He sustained a broken nose, broken teeth, a broken eye socket and a broken jaw that has resulted in him having a permanent metal plate fitted.

Detective Constable Stuart Dalladay, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a nasty assault that has left the victim with serious injuries that will have a long-lasting impact.

“As part of our investigation we have obtained CCTV images of five men and a woman we are keen to identify and I would urge anyone who recognises them to please get in touch.

“I also understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident, some of whom may have been filming it on their mobile phones, and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with footage to please come forward if you have not already spoken to police.”
