A PERSONAL trainer who helps people find the fun in exercise has opened a gym in Poole.
Jodie Nielsen, 24, has been a personal trainer since she was 17.
She took a hiatus from her career to go travelling and later attend university, but invested in personal training full-time when demand for her services increased.
Jodie said: "I was self-employed and training a few people and then suddenly there was a boom in numbers. I was at university while I was doing personal training and I ended up working really long hours so I decided to leave university, with the aim of having my own gym.
"I didn’t think having my own gym would happen this quickly, it's all a bit surreal.
"The gym is very pink and very colourful, it’s covered in flowers. I’m a very bright person so I wanted it to be colourful.
"Since the opening on September 4, I have been really busy with my classes and one-to-one clients. I love it. All my clients are so lovely and so fun. It feels like I am chatting with friends. I always think ‘I have such a long day today’ and then it’s suddenly 10pm."
Jodie's gym, Jodie Anne Fitness Studios, is located at Unit 1, 83 Ringwood Road in Poole and boasts a variety of equipment as well as a large studio.
Jodie said: "The studio in the gym is massive and can hold up to 50 people and the gym can fit eight people during a workout.
"The gym is mainly used for one-to-one sessions with clients. I quite like the personal side of the gym as clients are paying for a more private service and gym.
"I just really want people to enjoy exercise and view it as I view it, not as a chore. I try to do different things in my classes so people don’t realise that they are exercising.
"If people want to come to the gym, I would encourage them to get in touch with me first so we can talk about what they want to achieve and what classes to join."
Jodie Anne Fitness Studios is open all day Monday to Saturday.
