A MAN was punched causing him to become unconscious and then kicked while on the floor in Bournemouth town centre.

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was assaulted in Old Christchurch Road at around 3am on Saturday, September 11, after being approached by a group of men and women.

Police said the victim sustained a head injury that required hospital treatment.

Officers attended and carried out searches in the area, but the offender was not located.

Now police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak with in connection to the incident.

Police Constable Jack Cornick, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this unprovoked assault and have obtained CCTV images of the suspect through our enquiries.

“I appreciate they are not the best quality images, but I am hoping someone is still able to recognise the man pictured and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please come forward.”
