POLICE have launched an arson investigation following a fire at a disused office space in Bournemouth.
Fire crews rushed to the commercial property in Holdenhurst Road shortly before 7pm on Monday, September 13.
Witnesses reported seeing crews in the area of the building which was the site of a major fire last summer.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "Crews from Springbourne, Redhill Park and Westbourne attended the incident along with the Aerial Ladder Platform, also from Westbourne.
"On arrival, firefighters found a fire in a disused office space within a building of three floors. The log states the fire involved a cat scratcher, carpet and a door and was extinguished using back pack extinguishers.
"The stop came at 7.19pm and the police were informed."
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "At 6.53pm on Monday, September 13, officers received a report from the fire service of a fire in Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth.
"It was reported that the fire was believed to have been started deliberately. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time."
