AN UNAUTHORISED encampment has been set up at a park in Bournemouth town centre.
BCP Council have confirmed that they are aware of and monitoring an encampment of eight caravans and other vehicles at Meyrick Park.
The encampment is believed to have been set up overnight on Monday September 13.
A spokesman from BCP Council said: “The council is aware of the Unauthorised Encampment at Meyrick Park in Bournemouth consisting of eight living units and associated vehicles.
“The required assessments have been undertaken and the site will be visited regularly.”
It is understood that Oakmeadians RFC, who train and play their homes games at Meyrick Park, have been forced to cancel all training session this evening whilst the ongoing situation is dealt with.
