The council strongly recommends that parents take the opportunity to visit schools to see what they can offer their child before making their application.
There are 96 schools across the conurbation and the council urges parents to express four school preferences as this will maximise the chances of being offered one you choose, though there is no guarantee.
You must apply to the local authority where you live, even if the schools you are applying for are in another area.
You must have your own email address to create an account and apply online. All late applications after the closing date must be made using the paper form.
