MEMBERS of a women's organisation in Bournemouth have walked the entire Stour Valley Way in aid of Alzheimer's Research UK.
Members of Bournemouth Tangent No. 1, known as the Stour Valley Stompers, walked from Stourhead in Wiltshire to Mudeford.
They raised £2,685 for their chosen charity, which, when added to the Gift Aid, comes to over £3,000.
A spokesperson for the group said: "The Stompers encountered slithering sticky mud, rain, stinging nettles, fallen trees and frighteningly boisterous cows but have also enjoyed glorious sunshine and beautiful scenery.
"Getting lost became the norm with many waymarks covered by ivy or being non-existent. The walk created much fun, laughter, team spirit, camaraderie, perseverance and success.
"Most of all it has created some wonderful memories for us. What a team.
"Our Just Giving page is still open, should anyone reading this wish to donate to our cause."
