POLICE investigating the rape of a 15-year-old girl at Bournemouth beach will reveal new information about a suspect on Crimewatch Live today, Monday, September 6.

The officer leading the investigation will appear on the BBC One show at 10am.

An e-fit image issued by police last month will also be shown in the hope members of the public will be able to help identify the suspect.

The incident happened at around 3.30pm in the sea near the Oceanarium on Sunday, July 18.

The victim was with her friends playing with a ball when it landed in front of a teenage boy.

The boy eventually threw the ball back to one of the group and then began talking to the victim, before pulling her out deeper into the sea where it is reported that he raped her.

The boy told his victim that he was 17 years old and travelling to Birmingham.

He is described as possibly of Pakistani descent and with tanned skin, between five feet five inches and of thin, muscular build with short, dark hair that was pushed back and looked freshly trimmed.

He wore black or grey swimming shorts.
