FIVE bags containing what is thought to be cocaine were handed into police in Bournemouth town centre by security guards.

Police community support workers were patrolling the town centre on Wednesday, September 1, when they were flagged down by security guards and handed the bags of suspected drugs.

A spokesperson from Bournemouth Police said: “We can confirm that the suspected drugs were found in the area of The Square and while they have not been fully analysed at this stage they are suspected to be cocaine.

“We will explore any lines of enquiry that are available and would always urge anyone who has any information relating to the supply of illegal drugs or suspected drug-related activity to report it to us at dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101.

“If a crime is in progress, always dial 999,” the police spokesperson added.
