THE weekly firework spectacular will be coming to an end tonight at Poole Quay.

Poole's sixth and final pyrotechnic show of the summer will see the night's sky ablaze with colour in the free event.

The fireworks are part of the CityFibre Spectacular, entertainment starts at 7pm and runs through until 10pm, with the fireworks providing a dramatic end to the night.

Cllr Beverley Dunlop, Lead Member for Cultural Events and Bournemouth Regeneration, said: “The past six weeks have seen many thousands of people attend [the fireworks]– both residents and visitors – enjoying a wide range of live music and entertainment with many of these being provided and performed by local community groups, as part of the Festival Coast Live! offering.

“The fireworks at the finale of each Thursday evening have been as good as ever, as evidence by the cheers of the crowd and sounding of horns from the many boats.”

Lucy Cooper, Regional Partnership Director at CityFibre said: “CityFibre are delighted to have been able to sponsor the Poole Quay Fireworks throughout the summer. As part of Festival Coast Live, the CityFibre summer spectacular has attracted both local residents and visitors to the Quay to enjoy live music, entertainment and a spectacular firework display.

"We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with BCP Council to promote the wonderful area we live in.”

Elsewhere, fireworks will also be taking place at Bournemouth Pier on Friday and Saturday as part of the Air Festival this weekend.

Both weekly firework displays at Bournemouth (outside of the Air Festival) and Poole are organised by BCP Tourism and make up part of the Festival Coast Live activity and events programme which has been running across the conurbation this summer.
