POLICE and fire crews are carrying out searches along the River Stour in Christchurch for a missing man from Bournemouth.

Dorset Police issued an appeal for missing 79-year-old Neil Hurren earlier today.

He was last seen at an address in Runnymede Avenue at 10.20am on Tuesday August 31.

Multiple emergency response vehicles have been spotted outside of Longham, with divers taking to the river in a rubber dinghy.

A police spokesman said: “We are carrying out searches in the area for missing man Neil Hurren, who we put out an appeal for earlier today.

“Officers are being assisted by the fire service, who has personnel in the area carrying out training.”

Bournemouth Echo:

Crews from across Dorset have been called to the scene to assist police searches.

“We have resources on scene from Ringwood, Redhill Park, Ferndown, Poole and Weymouth in support of the on-going missing person investigation and search being undertaken by Dorset Police,” a spokesperson from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
