THE latest project from the council's housing development partnership is due to welcome residents within the next 10 months.

The West Cliff Mansions scheme in Hahnemann Road features 44 one, two and three-bed flats.

Bournemouth Development Company – the council’s partnership now with Muse Developments, which is still a part of Morgan Sindall, is behind the scheme.

The cheapest of the unreserved apartments is £205,000 for a one-bed flat and the most expensive property yet to be reserved is £342,500 for a two bedroom first floor apartment

The West Cliff Mansions website describes the site will have “a high level of specification with stylish modern kitchens and bathrooms, technology to aid home working".

Toby Marden, Bournemouth Development Company senior development manager, said: “As with our recently completed Treetops development in St Stephens Road, we have seen a great opening reaction.

"It appears to be attracting a mix of potential buyers, many with existing connections to the area who are looking to relocate. Others are local residents who are deciding to resize from their current homes.

"I am encouraged with this strong initial reaction that we continue to have a compelling draw for Bournemouth town centre living.”

Those making reservations are expected to move in from late spring next year.

Cllr Philip Broadhead, BCP Council deputy leader, said: “It’s exciting to see such a strong reaction on launch and to hear that a commitment to reserve is being made following visits to BDC’s existing schemes, including the Citrus building launched in 2014 and the more recent Treetops building.

"It’s important we get the specification right and offer quality homes that will generate more footfall into Bournemouth town centre and more income to our high street businesses.”
