CASUALTIES avoided any serious injuries following a four-vehicle crash on the A35.

Emergency services rushed to the main road at Bloxworth Flats on Saturday afternoon following reports of a serious-injury collision.

A road closure was put in place for several hours between Bere Regis and the Bakers Arms roundabout while the incident was dealt with.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We received a report at 2.43pm on Saturday, August 28, reporting a four-vehicle collision on the A35 at Bloxworth Flats. The vehicles involved were a silver Volkswagen Golf, a black Honda Jazz, a silver Honda Civic and a black Ford Ranger.

"Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place between Bere Regis and the Bakers Arms Roundabout.

"Four people received medical attention and, while it was initially reported as a serious injury collision, thankfully all of the casualties were believed to have suffered only minor injuries.

"The road was reopened at shortly before 6pm.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place."
