POLICE were involved in the pursuit of a reportedly wanted man in Poole this afternoon.
Six police cars and an ambulance were seen in a residential area following a crash, a witness said.
The incident came to a close in Daulton Gardens when a vehicle collided with a police car and crashed into a lamppost, metres away from a house.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 4.22pm on Friday August 27 of a wanted man who was believed to be driving a stolen vehicle in the area of Poole Park.
A great result to end the week! PD Franky assisted @DorsetTraffic and #PooleNPT officers in locating a wanted male for an array of offences, including the theft of the below vehicle. After ramming a police car and decamping, he was located in a garden after fantastic containment! pic.twitter.com/HjF95Uzbp8

“There were no reports of any injuries. The male driver reportedly tried to make off from the scene. He was detained and was checked over by the ambulance service as a precaution.
“He is now assisting officers with their enquiries.”
