FIREFIGHTERS rushed to extinguish a blaze involving 'large amounts' of wood shavings.
Two fire engines from Sturminster Newton Fire Station were called to Fiddleford Village Road at 7.17pm yesterday evening after receiving reports of a hedge fire.
Upon arrival, crews found there to be a fire at the back of a cottage involving a hedge and large amounts of wood shavings. The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Team said: "Two pumps from Sturminster Newton were called to a fire on Fiddleford Village Road. The fire was at the rear of a cottage and involved a tree hedge and large amounts of wood shavings.
"Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and dampened down the area."
