A CAR was badly damaged by a fire in the driveway of a Bournemouth property.

Emergency services were called to Alum Chine Road to the blaze at 9.30pm on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Alum Chine Road, Bournemouth at 9.30pm last night for a car on fire on a driveway.

“One crew from Springbourne attended and two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the engine compartment. The stop was at 9.48pm.”

The spokesperson added that there were no injuries and the fire was accidental.
