A SECURITY guard in Poole was racially abused while dealing with reports of a man being offensive to customers in the Dolphin Centre.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident which took place at the Delfino Lounge at around 3.25pm on Wednesday, August 18.

The force said the abusive man left the scene on a bicycle.

Following enquiries, a 26-year-old Bournemouth man has attended for a voluntary police interview and has been released under investigation.

Police Constable Jade Harper, of Poole police, said: “Dorset Police takes all reports of hate crime very seriously and we are continuing to investigate this incident.

“I am appealing to any witnesses who were in the vicinity and have not already spoken to police to please come forward. I would also like to hear from anyone else with information that might assist our enquiries.”
