A PERSON was taken to hospital after being hit by a car this morning.

Police said a person was hit by a car around 9am in Lockyers Road near Corfe Mullen.

Dorset Council said traffic was moving slowly as emergency services dealt with the crash.

A spokeswoman from Dorset Police said: "We were called at 9.17am on Tuesday 17 August 2021 to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Lockyers Road in Corfe Mullen. Officers attended with the ambulance service.

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital and officers left the scene at around 10.25am.

"We do not have an update on the injuries."

The council confirmed the road was cleared around 9.50am.
